Statements from the Consortium
- The West Midlands ME Groups (WMMEG) wrote to the Countess of Mar on 21 July on the important topic of ME/CFS medical education and training. The WMMEG brought the recently published InnovAiT GP Guidelines on 'CFS' to the Countess’ attention asking for her urgent consideration as the Chair of Forward-ME. (July 2011)
- The ME Association, together with the Young ME Sufferers Trust and the West Midlands ME Groups Consortium - are calling on the PACE Trial organisers for some more information. A joint letter was sent to one of the principal investigators, Professor Peter D White, on 24 May 2011. A web version of the letter is on the ME Association website.
UPDATE: Following this joint letter Queen Mary College sent a Freedom of Information response to the ME Association.
- West Midlands ME Groups (WMMEG) Correspondence (October 2010 to February 2011)
relates to the WMMEG concerns illustrated in their statements. This correspondence includes emails concerning the February 2011 APPG on ME meeting and the statement sent to the APPG on 23 January with endorsements, plus also the BACME Conference held in October 2010. (March 2011)
- The 'Programme for APPG work for 2011' will be discussed at the forthcoming APPG on ME meeting on 16 February. WMMEG emailed a statement in anticipation to the APPG on ME on 23 January, to draw their attention to previous related correspondence and ME Association’s news items. Also attached to the email was a letter from the WMMEG given to the APPG on ME's meeting in March 2010, and the MEA’s ‘Brief for Westminster Parliamentarians’ dated June 2010 (January 2011)
- BACME Membership (Updated - 5.11.10). Statement (with endorsements) regarding BACME. Includes the criteria for becoming a member of BACME.
- Response to the GSRME (Group on Scientific Research into Myalgic Encephalomyelitis) report (February 2007). There is also a GSRME website with the full report.

"We reported on 22 July that the Journal of Internal Medicine had published an online draft of new International Consensus Criteria for Myalgic Encephalomyelitis that had been signed off by 25 doctors and scientists working in the field.

An International Consensus Panel consisting of clinicians, researchers, teaching faculty and an independent patient advocate was formed with the purpose of developing criteria based on current knowledge. Thirteen countries and a wide range of specialties were represented. (Sept 2011)
